APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES
2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION
Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission to Postgraduate programmes of the University of Abuja for the 2024/2025 academic session. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the institute of Reproductive Health (RH), University of Abuja, in collaboration with the institute of Medical Sciences Africa (IMSA) is currently offering the under-mentioned postgraduate programmes.
A. FACULTY OF VETERINARY MEDICINE
1) Master of Science in Veterinary Surgery (MSc Veterinary Surgery)
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for this programme candidates must
Have five (5) credit passes in English language, mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology at D’Level WASC/NECO/GCE at not more than two sittings.
b) Have obtained a DVM, BVSC/VMD degree or its equivalent with a good academic record from schools in Nigeria or abroad accredited by the Nigerian University Commission (NUC)/ Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN)
2). Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Veterinary Surgery Specialties
1. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Food Animal Surgery
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery
ii. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Veterinary Anaesthesiology
in Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Laboratory Animal Surgery
Admission Requirements
a) Candidates must possess a DVM/VMD or BVSc degree with Master of Science (MSc) degree in Veterinary Surgery from schools in Nigeria or abroad accredited by the Nigerian University Commission (NUC)/Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN) with a minimum of 60% or CGPA of 4.0 (orill grade)
B. COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES: INSTITUTE OF REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH (IRH) UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA AND THE INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES AFRICA (IMSA)
The Institute of Reproductive Health (IRH), University of Abuja in Collaboration with the institute of Medical Sciences Africa (IMSA) affers the following postgraduate programmes.
1. Master of Science (MSc) in Reproductive Physiology and Assisted Reproductive Technology (Human Medicine)
2 Master of Science (MSc) in clinical Embryology (Human Medicine)
3.Postgraduate Diploma in Andrology (Human Medicine)
4.Postgraduate Diploma in Cryopreservation of gametes and embrayas (Human Medicine)
5Postgraduate Diploma in Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) (Human Medicine)
6.Postgraduate Diploma in IVF Laboratory Management (Human Medicine).
7.Masters in Multiple Ovulation, IVF, and Embryo Transfer (Veterinary Medicine)
8.Processing, and Storage (Veterinary Medicine) Postgraduate Diploma in Semen Collection, Assessment,
Postgraduate Diploma in Bio-Physics of Ultrasonography
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for programmes 1-Sabove, candidates must
a) Have five (5) credit passes in English language, mathematics physics, chemistry and biology at O’Level WASC/NECO/GCE at not more than two sittings,
b) Hold an MB85 degree, with a minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience and registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN):
Be MBBS holders who have completed Part 1 or 2 of the National Postgraduate Medical College/West Africa College of Surgeons and are working in Obstetrics and Gynecology within federal medical centres, teaching hospitals, or equivalent institutions, will be given preference.
d) Applicants for programme (7) above must have obtained a DVM, BVSc/VMD degree or its equivalent with a good academic record from schools in Nigeria or abroad accredited by the Nigerian University Commission (NUC)/Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN)
e) Applicants for Postgraduate Diploma programmes Band 9 above must be holders of DVM, BVS/VMD, BSc degree and HND or its equivalent in Animal Science, Animal Production, Biology, Zoology and Medical Laboratory Science with a good academic record from schools in Nigeria or abroad accredited by the Nigerian University Commission (NUCI/Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN)
Application For
A non-refundable application fee of N20,500 only for programmes in “A” and N50,000.00 only for programmes in “B” should be paid to the University of Abuja Account through REMITA via University of Abuja portal https://portal.uniabuja.edu.ng
