NECO EXTENDS 2025 SSCE REGISTRATION DEADLINE
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially extended the registration deadline for the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for internal candidates.
In an internal memo dated June 2, 2025, and signed by Dr. Charles E. Udoh, Director of the Registration Department, the new schedule gives schools additional time to complete the registration process.
According to the revised timeline:
The new deadline for normal registration by schools is Friday, June 6, 2025, by 12:00 midnight.
Late registration begins on Saturday, June 7, 2025, with applicable late registration charges.
The final deadline for all late registration remains Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
NECO urged State Coordinators to inform all schools under their supervision to take advantage of the extended window, stressing that there will be no further extension after June 10.
The move is seen as a relief to many schools that had faced challenges meeting the earlier deadline. The Council, however, reiterated its commitment to maintaining a strict schedule for examination preparation and logistics.
State Coordinators have been directed to ensure compliance and timely communication with schools to avoid any further delays in the registration process.
